Serpent-themed single Boa, released by pop star Megan Thee Stallion last weekend, recorded a little over eight million streams on Spotify in its debut week.
That’s not all; the official video for the song has also reached 6.5 million views on YouTube as of May 2022, 2024. These records indicate how widely her fans have accepted the song in a short period of time.
This notwithstanding, monitoring platforms will continue to observe what new records the song breaks in the weeks ahead. Boa premiered on Friday, May 10, 2024, with Meghan asking fans to pre-save the record ahead of time.
She had previously posted a cover art of the song on her socials with the inscription “Boa: Curse of The Serpent Woman,” which got her followers talking.
It will be recalled that the cover design appeared in the form of a video game, which some of her followers described as “the most creative idea ever.”
Other followers also said the serpent had somewhat become a symbol for the award-winning star, as previous singles like Cobra and Hiss had similar features.
The single Boa, came ahead of the American singer’s scheduled tour, captioned: The Hot Girl Summer Tour, which started on May 14, 2024.
Guests like American rapper and Grammy-nominated artiste, GloRilla, were announced as part of the tour, which is said to be Megan’s first-ever headlining tour in arenas across the globe.
The tour is a follow-up to the single HISS which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February. Before this, she released Cobra which came with a fascinating video, reaching over a million views in less than 24 hours after its premiere.
Meghan has scheduled international concerts to begin in Glasgow, Scotland, on July 4, in addition to performances in England, France, Germany, and Ireland.
