Producer Tyler Perry’s latest project, Beauty in Black, may have hit the television screens already, but not without the grand premiere, graced by many top stars.
The screening, hosted by Netflix at the Atlanta iPic Theater, celebrated the cast and crew members of the 16-episode series, who all looked exquisite.
“This town, this city, this state has been good to me, to us at Tyler Perry Studios, to the film industry, so I’m grateful that you all are here to watch the two first episodes that are going to be available on Netflix on October 24,” the renowned producer said at the screening.
“…This is me writing a show that I just wanted to let go and let crazy people live in my head and tell the story. This is about entertainment; this is about suspending yourself from our day-to-day lives and looking into some crazy people’s lives so we don’t have to deal with our own selves every day,” he added and thanked the stars and members of the crew.
Beauty in Black is rated as another top production that comes to support Tyler Perry’s existing projects like A Fall from Grace, A Madea Homecoming, and Mea Culpa.
The drama is said to revolve around two women. One of them runs a successful corporation, while the other had been ejected by her mother and was finding it difficult to make ends meet.
The agreement between Perry and Netflix reportedly began in October 2023 and was limited to only movies. Some of the actors and actresses revealed include Ricco Ross, Crystle Stewart, Shannon Wallace, George Middlebrook, Terrell Carter, Richard Lawson, and Taylor Polidore Williams.
Others are Charles Malik Whitfield, Bryan Tanaka, Joy Rovaris, Xavier Smalls, Debbi Morgan, Steven G. Norfleet, Julian Horton, and Tamera “Tee” Kissen.
