Fans’ favourite, Ayra Starr, has an interesting name for her new album coming next month. She calls it “The Year I Turned 21,” (TYIT21), sources close to the singer have disclosed.
It is unclear how the new project will turn out and what she intends to communicate with such a title. The Commas singer has yet to make a public comment on the latest information coming from her camp.
On Tuesday, she posted a picture with the initial “TYIT21”, leaving some of her wondering what it meant. Last month, the attention-grabbing singer announced she was working on a new album but did not provide the title and specific date for the project.
The singer only disclosed her plans in a reply on X (Twitter) after a fan inquired when her new album would be ready. Her fans have since kept their fingers crossed for the album, which she says is now “one hundred percent complete.”
Meanwhile, his fanbase continues to jam with her trendy single, Commas, which has set new records on Spotify. She currently has over 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify and stands as the first female Nigerian act to attain that height.
Early in January, Ayra trended with Afrosound Commas and subsequently released a solo video to back it up. The song, by the end of February 2024, had accumulated 10 million streams on Spotify.
In the second week of February, Commas had reached No. 6 on the United States Billboard Afrobeat Chart, in addition to massive endorsements in the Gambia and her home country, Nigeria.
The official video (lyrics) for the song reached 24 million views on YouTube, as of April 30, 2024. Commas is a happy-sounding song in which the Rush hitmaker sings about trusting in God and making steady progress in her life and career.
