Sensational star Ayra Starr is celebrating the three nominations grabbed at the 2024 BET Awards, which is scheduled for later in June this year.

Her name appeared in the Best New Artist, and Best International Act categories, while her 2024 Commas is being considered for the award called ‘Best Her.’

Though she will face stiff competition from other showstoppers like Tyla, Rihanna, Asake, and others, the Sability hitmaker, for now, is impressed with her selection in the various categories.

She took to her X (Twitter) handle on Friday after the names were announced, describing the three nominations as “crazy.” She wrote: “Commas’ just dropped this year, but it’s already holding it down for Afrobeats with a BET nomination. The nominations are crazy! Wow.”

The young performer who calls her fans the “Mobstarrs” will come head-to-head with Asake, South Africa’s Tyla, French singer Aya Nakamura, British superstar Raye, Brazil’s Karol Conká, and others in the Best International Act category.

In the New Act category, she will be hoping to beat Tyla, Raye as well as Sexyy Red, and others. The same applies to the Best Her category where Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, SZA, Megan Thee Stallion, Victoria Monét, and others feature prominently.

The award ceremony will take off June 30, 2024, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, United States of America.

Ayra Starr’s 2024 single Commas was among the top three trending hits on the Afrobeats Chart UK, and was fourth on the list after it spent a total of nine weeks, climbing and falling from different peak positions.

Early this month, she announced her new album, The Year I Turned 21, will be ready on May 31, 2024.  Afrobeats finest, Asake, and American singer Coco Jones are some notable artistes named on the record, which has previously released singles like Commas and Rhythm and Blues.

Other melodies on the compilation include Birds Sing of Money, Goodbye (Warm Up) ft Asake, Woman Commando ft Coco Jones, Control, Lagos Love Story, Last Heartbreak Song, Bad Vibes, The Kids Are Alright.
