Rihanna and ASAP Rocky first sparked dating rumors in early 2020, welcoming their first son, RZA, two years later. Little Riot Rose came along 15 months later.
In the rapper’s new Vogue cover story celebrating his upcoming stint as a Met Gala co-chair published on Tuesday, April 15, Rocky tells us about what his father’s mother really thinks of his relationship with Rihanna and, more specifically, the impact that she has had on her grandson.
According to Vogue, Rocky’s grandma says she’s always known Rocky was destined for big things.
She went on to share that she’s especially proud of her grandson’s partnership with Rihanna, with whom he shares two young sons.
“She loves her some RiRi,” the “F–kin’ ASAP Rocky said of his grandmother.
Rocky also told Vogue that Grandma Cathy is a big fan of the Euphoria actor, stating
“My grandma got a crush on Colman Domingo, with the matriarch confirming with, “I love him.”
The Harlem native also shared an update on his kids with Vogue and described his love for the “Love on the Brain” singer as “internal, external, infinite, the past, and the future.”
ASAP Rocky shared that his older son likes to stay by himself; he likes his books,” adding that Riot, on the other hand, loves attention.
“He likes to take stuff from his brother so his brother can chase him.”
This interview comes just weeks before the 2025 Met Gala, in which Rocky was named co-chair alongside Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, and Pharrell Williams.
Rocky has long been a fashion-first hip-hop star and even designs his own clothing, premiering a collection titled American Sabotage last year.
The theme for this year’s Met is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which celebrates dandyism and the evolution of Black menswear dating back to the 18th century.
