The world lost Grammy-winning American Idol finalist, Alum Mandisa on April 18 when she was found dead in her home at the age of 47.

Mandisa passed away on June 4 due to complications resulting from her class III obesity, according to an autopsy report.

The autopsy report states that she “was last known alive approximately three weeks” before her discovery by friends at her Tennessee home. Her death was listed in the report as natural.

The news of Mandisa’s passing was announced in April by her agent, who also urged people to pray for her family and close friends at this very trying time.

In 2006, Mandisa participated in season 5 of American Idol and placed ninth. The following year, she released her first album, True Beauty, which debuted at the top of Billboard’s Top Christian Albums list.

Mandisa achieved her first No. 1 on the Christian Airplay chart of Billboard in 2011 with the song Stronger. She also had a top 20 success on the chart with Good Morning, which featured TobyMac. However, the album Overcomer (2013), for which she won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album, and whose title single topped Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs list for ten weeks, was her greatest hit.
