Al Roker has a message for Kelly Clarkson’s detractors who attacked her for disclosing that she takes medicine to lose weight.
Regarding Clarkson’s latest disclosure, Roker, 69, stated on Today Show: “There’s too much judgment going on. People should just back off and let them live their lives as long as they’re working with their doctors and being healthy about it.”
Roker has also been outspoken about his personal struggle with obesity, remembering that following a gastric bypass surgery in 2002, losing weight was “not easy.”
“Listen, I took a raft of stuff when I had bypass surgery. It’s not easy, whatever you do, so get off people’s backs,” he said.
The singer revealed to Whoopi Goldberg during Monday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show that she has dropped weight thanks to an unidentified medicine after her “bloodwork got so bad.”
“My doctor chased me for two years, and I was like, ‘No, I’m afraid of it.’ I already have thyroid problems”.
It’s not Ozempic, despite what everyone believes. It’s not what you think. Numerous celebrities, like Amy Schumer and Sharon Osbourne, have admitted to using the injectable drug Ozempic.
In an interview with People in January, Clarkson said she had lost weight by walking a lot after recently relocating her family to New York City.
She noted: “Walking in the city is quite the workout and at the moment, I’m very into infrared saunas. Additionally, I simply took a deep dive because I was exhausted by everyone”.
Ozempic has not been given FDA approval to help people lose weight. However, medications that are comparable to Ozempic have been licensed for use in individuals who struggle with weight control as well as other chronic weight-related illnesses.
