Rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, Daphne Joy. The lawsuit, amounting to $1 million, was filed on Monday, May 6, following accusations of rape and physical abuse made by Joy.

The G-Unit rapper shares an 11-year-old son, Sire Jackson, with Joy. The lawsuit was filed in response to an Instagram post made by Joy on March 28, in which she accused Jackson of sexually and physically assaulting her. Jackson has demanded a court order to remove the post and halt any further defamatory comments.

50 Cent claims that Joy’s post was a retaliatory act after she discovered that he was seeking sole custody of their son. This came after Joy was accused of being one of Diddy’s “sex workers” in a sexual assault lawsuit filed against the Bad Boy mogul by producer Lil Rod.

50 asserted that these allegations have severely tarnished his business reputation and negatively impacted his child custody case. He also claims that the accusations have exposed him to negative online comments.

50 Cent denies Daphne Joy’s allegations

In early April, 50’s lawyers reportedly sent Joy a letter demanding the post’s removal. However, Joy refused to comply. Instead, her lawyers allegedly responded by telling Jackson to pay Joy millions of dollars and drop his custody suit, a demand that he has labeled as “clearly extortive.”

His legal team has dismissed Joy’s allegations as “false” and “malicious.” They also claim that Joy has a “misguided loyalty” to Diddy.

They believe that Diddy is financially backing this attack, a concern that the rapper has reportedly expressed to Joy and others for many years.

In her original Instagram post, Joy expressed her frustration with Jackson’s behavior and accused him of rape and physical abuse. She claimed that 50 Cent had failed to fulfill his responsibilities as a father, despite her efforts to facilitate his relationship with their son.

50 Cent initially responded to Joy’s post by denying her accusations as “false and baseless.” He stated that his main priority is his son’s safety, Sire and that he is committed to taking all necessary legal actions to protect him. Jackson believes that Joy’s recent accusations are a direct response to his decision to seek sole custody of their son.
