In the wake of Kendrick Lamar’s fiery diss track Euphoria, Lil Yachty, also known as Lil Boat, has seemingly thrown a subtle jab at the acclaimed rapper.
The track, which was released on Tuesday, April 30, has stirred up quite a storm in the rap community. Yachty is one of the many names mentioned in the song.
Yachty, who shares a close bond with Drake, liked a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that brought up Kendrick’s past indiscretions.
The post questioned Kendrick’s actions during his alleged infidelity, hinting at his attack on Drake for supposedly being an absent father.
Kendrick’s lyrics in Euphoria seemed to taunt Drake, suggesting that he was too focused on his rap career and not enough on his responsibilities as a father.
However, Yachty quickly defended his actions, claiming that his like was an accident and responding with laughter when a user suggested that he was in trouble.
Kendrick has previously admitted to cheating on his longtime partner, Whitney Alford, with whom he has two children. This confession came in his 2022 song Mother I Sober from his album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.
In the song, Kendrick expressed his remorse and asked for forgiveness. Furthermore, Kendrick confessed to having an affair with a white woman while on tour in Europe. This revelation came in his song Worldwide Steppers.
Euphoria also suggests that Yachty may have influenced some of Drake’s recent work. The song includes a line criticizing Drake’s love for fame and suggesting that Yachty can’t provide him with any style.
Drake and Yachty have collaborated frequently in recent years, working together on “Another Late Night” from Drake’s 2023 album For All the Dogs. Yachty also co-produced several songs on Drake’s joint project with 21 Savage, Her Loss.
DJ Akademiks reveals Drake waited for Kendrick Lamar diss for 10 years
Meanwwhile, DJ Akademiks has claimed that Drake has waited a decade to engage in a lyrical battle with Kendrick Lamar.
Akademiks disclosed that he had been in contact with the rapper amid the reignited feud with Kendrick Lamar.
According to him, Drake had been observing Kendrick’s pattern of dropping verses that create hype, only to disappear afterwards. This has left Drake ready to defend himself and engage in the lyrical battle.
