The feud between Chris Brown and Quavo sparked Fat Joe’s reaction. The tension between the two artists has been simmering for a while, seemingly over past relationships with ex-girlfriends Saweetie and Karrueche Tran.
The first shot was fired by Chris Brown in his song Freak, where he took a jab at Quavo. The former Migos rapper retaliated with Tender, bringing up Brown’s history of domestic violence and alleged drug problems while also taunting him over his rumored fling with Karrueche.
This prompted Brown to release Weakest Link, a track that claimed he had been involved with Saweetie while she was still dating Quavo. The song also mentioned Quavo’s late nephew and Migos groupmate TakeOff, leading to a quick response from Quavo with Over Hoes & Bitches. Here, he referenced Brown’s infamous 2009 assault of Rihanna and mocked him over his 2013 fight with Frank Ocean and the 2015 robbery of his San Fernando Valley home.
The fiery exchange between the two artists has drawn attention from seasoned rap beef survivors 50 Cent and Cam’ron, with the latter crowning “Weakest Link” the “best diss song this week.”
Amidst this heated exchange, Fat Joe controversially compared Chris Brown to 2Pac during an Instagram Live session. He referred to Brown as the “2Pac of 2024,” praising his versatility in singing, dancing, and rapping. He also mentioned the other high-profile feuds that have exploded recently involving Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Kanye West, Future, Rick Ross, and Metro Boomin.
Saweetie claps back at Quavo over Chris Brown diss
Meanwhile, female rapper Saweetie has responded to a line from Quavo’s new song, a diss track aimed at Chris Brown.
The song, titled Over Hoes & Bitches, includes a line where Quavo boasts about his ability to transform any model into a Saweetie.
This did not sit well with the Icy Girl rapper. Shortly after the release, Saweetie shared a screenshot of an unopened private message from Quavo, dated January 2024.
