The longstanding feud between Kanye West and Drake has been reignited. Kanye, also known as Yeezy, has made some bold claims about the Toronto-born rapper, referring to him as having a wealthy benefactor, a nod to Drake’s song with Sexyy Red and SZA.

The benefactor in question is none other than British record executive Sir Lucian Grainge, the CEO of Universal Music Group. Grainge is a titan in the music industry, responsible for signing some of the biggest names in music, including Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Kanye himself.

Kanye’s remarks came during his remix of Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That”, which takes aim at both Drake and J. Cole. The Yeezy rapper didn’t hold back during an interview with Justin Laboy on The Download podcast, where he claimed that Drake’s $400 million deal with Universal came at a great personal cost.

According to Kanye, Drake’s success is largely due to his association with Grainge and Universal. He even went as far as to suggest that Grainge is connected to those who control the banks in Africa.

The feud between Kanye West and Drake, who appeared to have reconciled at the Free Larry Hoover benefit concert in late 2022, seems to have a deeper, more spiritual dimension according to Kanye. He suggested that Drake’s decision to oppose him was akin to signing a pact with the devil.

Kanye also shared insights into his Like That (Remix) and referred to the current rap war as the “elimination of Drake”. The song, which premiered on The Download and has since been released on YouTube, sees Kanye siding with Kendrick Lamar in his beef against Drake.

In the song, Kanye West takes direct shots at Drake and J. Cole and even appears to reference Diddy’s sexual assault allegations. The remix was released shortly after Drake dropped a second diss track aimed at Kendrick, the “Taylor Made Freestyle,” which features the artificially generated voices of 2Pac and Snoop Dogg.
