In an interesting development, record producer Pharrell Williams is expected to respond to a new lawsuit over the choice of a trademark.

This singer is said to be operating the trademark known as ‘P.Inc’ but American singer Pink is not happy with Pharrell’s trademark as she contends the name is similar to the stage name. Lawyers for the Give A Reason singer have reportedly filed a lawsuit in that regard.

According to reports, legal paperwork indicates that Pink officially registered the trademark ‘PINK’ in 2001. She believes Pharrell’s attempt to use a “comparable brand name” or trademark “could harm her business.”

Her lawyers claim Pharrell Williams’ ‘P.Inc’ trademark “is similar to the PINK marks in sight, sound, meaning, and commercial impression.”

They argue that Pharrell William was “likely to market and promote its goods through the same channels of trade and to the same consumers as Pink.”

For this reason, lawyers for Pink have requested the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board in the US to intervene after they filed papers on April 18, 2024. Pharrell William was yet to respond to the claims. The development adds to a similar lawsuit Pharrell Williams is confronted with.

It will be recalled that Pharrell’s former Neptunes partner, Chad Hugo, accused him of seeking sole control over the group’s trademarks without consultation.

Chad Hugo had charged Pharrell Williams for “trying to take over the ‘Neptunes’ name by staking out exclusive ownership of new trademarks.” The matter, according to reports, is under review.

Meanwhile, Pink would embark on her ‘Summer Carnival’ tour throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe in June and July 2024, and later embark on other trips to North America.
