Afrobeats princess, Tems has announced her new single titled Love Me Jeje which is expected to be released soon.

Love Me Jeje will be released on Friday, April 26 for all music lovers. She debuted it on the first weekend of Coachella, leading the audience to sing the chorus of Love Me Jeje, love me tender.”

Seyi Sodimu, a Nigerian singer-songwriter best known for his 1997 hit song Love Me Jeje, which featured Shafy Bello, posted a video of Tems singing her song at Coachella on Instagram last week.

“It brightened my day,” The lovely thing about music is that it unites us across time and spans generations. Congrats on a fantastic Coachella performance, and shoutout to Tems and her team,” he tweeted.

During her performance at Coachella, Tems had another surprise up her sleeve when she brought out Wizkid and Justin Bieber to perform their Billboard Hot 100 No. 9 hit song Essence.

The Love Me Jeje song is the first single to be released after Tems announced that her debut album Born in the World, would be released in May.

Me & U and Not an Angel, two of her tracks that she released at the end of the last year, both peaked at No. 3 on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs list.

It can be recalled that , Tems has announced her debut album, dubbed Born in the Wild on April 15, a day after her spectacular Coachella performance.

The songwriter and producer teased her album, which will be out in May, with a one-minute video that she uploaded. The video appears to depict images from Tems’ early years, with kids playing on the beach, maybe representing events from her hometown.

“It’s all over the news, all over the news, I notice/ Under the sun, struggling to find my focus/ When I was young, younger than my mind as always/ Runnin’ away,” she sang in the video.

Tems released Me & U and Not an Angel, two solo songs, towards the end of last year. In March, she made her debut performing Not an Angel at Billboard Women in Music, where she also took home the Breakthrough Award.

It can be recalled that Tems had been holding a private listening session for the new album in Lagos, Nigeria. Posting snippets of the gathering recently, she thanked fans and well-wishers who continue to support her project.
