Professionals in the music industry would be beneficiaries of a new-launched online course called ‘Grammy Go’, introduced by the Recording Academy, the world’s biggest network of music experts.

The course is a result of a partnership between the Recording Academy and the learning platform, Coursera. ‘Grammy Go’ is said to have tailor-made courses and includes courses taught by Recording Academy members.

Enrollment has been opened with courses such as “Building Your Audience for Music Professionals,” taught by Joey Harris, an international music/marketing executive, and would also feature other resource persons, including musician Victoria Monet.

“This specialisation will help participants gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to build a strong brand presence and cultivate a devoted audience within the ever-changing music industry,” a statement following the launch said.

Phase two of the partnership would include another course titled: “Music Production: Crafting an Award-Worthy Song,” which aims to “strengthen the technological and audio skills of a music producer” and would be led by experienced Howard University professor and Grammy nominee Carolyn Malachi.

“Whether it be through a Grammy Museum programme, Grammy Camp or Grammy U, the Grammy organisation is committed to helping the next generation of creators flourish, and the Recording Academy is proud to introduce our newest higher learning opportunity with Grammy Go in partnership with Coursera,”

Panos A. Panay, President of the Recording Academy, said the courses “have been crafted to provide participants with the essential tools to grow in their professional and creative journeys.”

Marni Baker Stein, Chief Content Officer at Coursera, said the “self-paced online specialisations” would offer aspiring music professionals all over the world “an incredible opportunity to learn directly from iconic artists and industry experts.”

Grammy Go is described as “the first creator-to-creator learning platform” by the Recording Academy. Professionals in the industry have been encouraged to join the first part of the programme titled: “Building Your Audience for Music Professionals.”
