Young Thug’s trial has assumed unexpected turns, the latest surprise development being a complaint lodged by a witness.
This comes on the heels of procedural upsets such as an impression of unpreparedness by the prosecution, and a rumor that the trial could last for three years, even though Young Thug’s legal representatives are clamoring for his return home and the likelihood of his rights to a speedy trial seemingly being compromised.
On the 50th day of the trial, a witness for the trial alleged that an investigator within the Fulton County DA’s office “sexually harassed” her.
As Thug’s lawyer Keith Adams was cross-examining the witness on the stand, he brought up the alleged sexual harassment.
“You told us when you were back there that you didn’t want to come and see him because he had sexually harassed you,” Adams explained. The witness agreed with the statement and seemingly confirmed that the investigator allegedly wanted to date her.
The woman also confirmed an alleged story about how the investigator had her come to a restaurant with her son. He subsequently said that after the trial, he would be willing to take her out on a date.
The witness was at the trial because she allegedly had her apartment robbed by Young Thug in 2013. She was refusing to appear for the trial at first, which led to her arrest. Now, she is free, however, it is clear that these proceedings have left her in a distressed state.
In other news, Meek Mill is still upset about lyrics being used in court as evidence in Young Thug’s trial.
The rapper chimed in with his thoughts on the trial on X, in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 2, 2024. In doing so, he argued that Thug and YFN Lucci’s lyrics shouldn’t be used against them in court. Meek Mill explained that songs often have other writers who help come up with the lines.
“It should be impossible to charge Thug and Lucci for lyrics because in the studio we all give each other lines and don’t remember who said what after a high night in the studio…. I have done it with both of them … they both gave me lyrics b4… we all do this!” Meek argued.
