Chance The Rapper And Kirsten Corley Bennet To Divorce After 5 Years Of Marriage

Chance The Rapper And Kirsten Corley Bennet have announced their decision to part ways after five years of marriage. 

They revealed that they came to the decision amicably and with gratitude for the time spent together. 

In statements posted on their Instagram accounts the Chicago emcee and women’s health advocate shared they have decided to part ways after being quietly separated for a while.

They assured their fans that they would continue to co-parent their two daughters, Kensli, aged 7, and Marli, aged 4. Chance and Kirsten went on to request privacy and request as they navigated the transition. 

Kirsten and Chance got married in 2019 after dating for several years.

According to People, they were together “before the fame,” as they met at their moms’ Christmas party when they were just 9 years old.

The Acid Rap creator recalled that his mother worked at a real estate agency with Kirsten’s mother.

“Her daughters love to dance so they did a choreographed dance at this real estate party that I was at when I was 9. I saw her dancing and I was like, ‘Let’s get married!’”

Aside from being a mother, Corely is the founder and CEO of World of BOBY, a children’s apparel line she launched in July 2021. She also modeled for several brands including Alexander Wang, Shelby Steiner, and Vogue from 2014 to 2016.

Chance is currently working on his upcoming project titled Star Line. At the top of 2024, he gifted fans with I Will Be Your (Black Star Line Freestyle.), which sampled Stephanie Mills’ 1981 R&B classic, Don’t Stop Doin’ What ‘Cha Do. The song was his first offering after being on a musical hiatus since 2022.
