After spending a substantial portion of the year 2023 out of the public eye, Jamie Foxx has assured fans and well-wishers that he will share the full details of his health scare in due time.

In the middle of a side-splitting acceptance speech, the actor reminded the crowd of his wit and skill, coming with one hilarious quip after the other.

Per available reports, he was on a project when his health scare began. Due to that, he was hospitalized and consequently took advantage of an extended recovery time in the following months.

Even though he has been in public a few times in the year 2024, his most recent appearance was at the African American Film Critics Association Awards over the weekend where he accepted the “Producer’s Award”.

Accepting the award, he indicated: “Everybody wants to know what happened, and I’m going to tell you what happened, but I’m going to do it in my way. I’m going to do it in a funny way. It’s gonna be on the stage. We’re going to go back to the stand-up roots, but I’ll tell you in my way. It will be called ‘What Had Happened Was.’”

In December last year, Foxx shared just a piece of his harrowing health story and claimed he had seen “the tunnel” at a point in time during the crisis.

Months after he mysteriously fell ill, Foxx headed south of the border, jetting off on vacation in the beautiful Mexican city of Tulum. Foxx was spotted enjoying swimming holes in photos published by various online outlets.

The vacation was just five months after the actor was suddenly hospitalized in April 2023, while on the set of his upcoming Netflix film, Back In Action.

It was the latest in a long series of issues that had hampered production. Furthermore, the coverage of Foxx’s hospitalization was a mess, with Foxx seemingly both on the verge of death and recovering well.
