After their stunning performance at the Allegiant Stadium during the just-ended Super Bowl halftime show, Usher Raymond and his longtime partner Jennifer Goicoechea tied the knot in Las Vegas in the presence of close friends and family.
The couple married at Vegas Weddings’ Terrace Gazebo, an outdoor wedding chapel that accommodates 30 guests, with Usher’s mother and his longtime manager, Jonetta Patton, serving as their witnesses.
“We can confirm that Usher and Jennifer Goicoechea took the next step in their relationship and did get married on Sunday night in Las Vegas surrounded by close friends and family. They both look forward to continuing to raise their children together surrounded by love and thank everyone for the well wishes,” Usher’s reps stated in a statement.
Usher has a long and joyful history with Vegas. His epic halftime act debuted only a few months after ending one of the most profitable and buzzed-about Sin City residencies in history, the My Way show, which grossed $95.9 million.
The Super Bowl, an annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL), took on a new level of excitement as Usher graced the stage. Usually held on the first Sunday in February, the event marks the culmination of the NFL season and stands as one of the most-watched television events in the United States of America.
The stadium buzzed with anticipation as Usher, shirtless and charismatic, took the stage to open the show with the song Caught Up. The atmosphere in the stadium was charged with excitement as he flawlessly transitioned through a variety of his iconic tracks, leaving no doubt that this performance was indeed “30 years in the making.”
As Usher sang out his hits, the crowd was treated to a visual spectacle. Roller-skating backup dancers added a unique flair to the show, gliding across the stage in perfect sync with the music. The stage transformed into a lively dance floor, mirroring the energy of Usher’s Las Vegas residency.
Alicia Keys, seated behind a red piano, joined Usher for a heart-stirring rendition of If I Ain’t Got You, creating a moment of musical magic. The collaboration continued with a powerful duet on My Boo, one of Usher’s hit songs released more than a decade ago. The harmony between the two acclaimed artists as they performed was nothing short of amazing.
