American rapper Meek Mill has sparked a debate among his fans about Africa, but this time it’s not about his plans to visit the continent.

Instead, he wants to know which African artist he should collaborate with for a whole album.

Taking to Twitter/X, the rapper asked for a name he should make an entire album with – and promised he could get it done in just two weeks.

“If I made an album with an African artist who should it be???” he tweeted. “Question to Nigeria Ghan[a]? I rap well I could do in 2 weeks with a good producer??? Leave a comment who???”

The tweet received over thousands of likes and comments, with fans suggesting various names from different countries and genres. Some of the popular choices were Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Nasty C, AKA, Diamond Platnumz, and Tiwa Savage.

Some fans also urged Meek to explore other regions of Africa, such as East Africa, North Africa, and South Africa, and to work with multiple artists instead of just one. Others joked that he should collaborate with Akon, who is building a futuristic city in Senegal.

Meek has previously expressed his interest in Africa, saying that he wants to buy a property there and learn more about the culture. He has also praised some African artists, such as Burna Boy and Nasty C, on social media.

However, he has also faced some criticism for his comments about Africa, such as when he said he wanted to donate money to “the trenches” in Africa, which some people found offensive and ignorant.

It is not clear if Meek’s tweet is a serious proposal or just a hypothetical question, but it has certainly generated a lot of buzz and excitement among his fans and the African music scene. Who do you think Meek should make an album with?
