Musician and entrepreneur, Mr Eazi, has once again been celebrated for his unending impact on world music. The recent recognition is the Africa Prosperity Champions Award conferred on him in Ghana.
The award was part of the second edition of the African Prosperity Dialogue held in Aburi, in the Eastern Region of Ghana, to discuss pressing national and world issues.
Mr Eazi took home the Young Entrepreneur Award for his work as “a young creative entrepreneur championing entrepreneurship in and outside of the creative industry in Africa.”
He has since thanked Africa Prosperity Network, the organisers of the event, and also expressed excitement about the honours on his social media handles, saying there is “more exciting work to be done.”
Mr Eazi has received similar awards in the past with the most recent being the Museum for the United Nations—UN Live, which listed him as one of the inspiring personalities creating a positive impact through popular music.
He was hailed for “helping reshape global narratives and how the world views Africa,” according to UN Live.
The 2023 Culture for Impact List, compiled by the non-profit organisation, is based on “exciting initiatives and programmes” the organisation came across through its work with “popular culture for change, conversations with partners, and the collective pulse” of its extended network.
Last week, Mr Eazi released the official video for Orokoro, one of the tracks on his 2023 Evil Genius album which features celebrated Angélique Kidjo.
The exciting visuals had recorded about 7,000 views on YouTube as of January 2, 2024. He is also planning an Evil Genius Concert but is yet to conclude on the dates and other details.
