Nigerian rockstar Stanley Omah Didia, known on stage as Omah Lay, says he will lead a new generation of the Afrobeats genre, and fans should look out for more of his sounds in 2024 and beyond.

He believes Afrobeats will change in the years ahead, and he will be one of the pioneers of a new innovative sound.

The Soso hitmaker disclosed this in a recent interview on Beat FM, London, United Kingdom. He says his latest single, Holy Ghost, represents the new path he is introducing to Afrobeats.

“I have started a new sound. I feel like the sound people identify as Afrobeats is going to change in 2024/2025 and in the future. And I’m going to be one of the leaders of the new sound.

“I have started a new sound of Afrobeats and you’re going to hear more of that in 2024. ‘Holy Ghost’ is one of them. And I’m putting out an album. The album is going to consist of all of these new vibes,” he stated.

The singer has not disclosed the album’s title but posted a preview of a new song (without a title) early this week on his Instagram page.

Early this month, he released stunning visuals for his Holy Ghost soundtrack, which was released sometime in November 2023.

The single, as of January 11, 2023, had gathered over 20 million streams on Audiomack. The YouTube video has also recorded three hundred thousand views after 24 hours.

Holy Ghost has since attracted lots of positive reactions from his followers, who commended the quality video and exciting choreographers in the production.

Fans can only anticipate the kind of new Afrobeats sound he intends to introduce.

The 26-year-old has been on the scene for some time but started gaining attention in 2020 when he served his followers with the Afrobeat record titled Infinity and another self-produced project called Bad Influence.

Before his new Holy Ghost project, Omah Lay had been trending with songs like Soso and Reason (off his Boy Alone album) released in July 2022.
