Ghanaian Hiplife Music Duo, Keche, is known for releasing party bangers. Right from their Slow Motion Azonto rhythm released about ten years ago, the group has remained relevant on the local music scene and has now transitioned into the Afrobeats genre.
Their chart-topping song No Dulling released in 2020 became one of the favorites of music lovers in Ghana and beyond going on to win the Best Hiplife Song award at the 22nd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) in 2021.
Tapping into the spirit of No Dulling, the Hiplife sensation has returned to the scene, exhibiting their creativity on a new anthem called Party of the Year.
The stimulating Afrobeat song, which features musician and dancer Mr. Drew, speaks about celebration and unity and serves as a good build-up to the festive season later in November and December.
Keche’s new song comes with pulsating beats and appealing melodies that keep the listener hooked from start to finish. Those with good dancing skills may be tempted to step on the dance floor while amateur dancers may only want to nod their heads or stamp their feet to the tune.
Just as Kwame Eugene enhanced the No Dulling in 2020, Keche once again decided to incorporate Mr. Drew’s perfect pitch vocals on the latest single.
The song is produced by Ghanaian sound engineer, William Osafo, known professionally as WillisBeatz, and is well recommended for Disc Jockeys (DJs) who wish to turn up parties with non-stop mixes.
Party of the Year is well composed such that one may not pay attention to some of the lyrics captured in the Ghanaian local language Twi, as the song highlights the different kinds of enjoyment that go on at outdoor and house parties.
The upbeat song also appeals to Ghanaian and Nigerian communities as the composers did well to indicate some local dishes that are usually served at parties in both countries.
The new release is already garnering positive feedback while spreading happiness and good vibes. It is an elevating Afrobeat rhythm that certainly puts a smile on the faces of people
Keche, which means “skills” in Twi, is a Ghanaian hiplife duo made up of Joshua Kojo Ampah and Andrew Kofi Cudjoe.
