Pharrell Williams Drops Video For Viral ‘Airplane Ticket’ Song

Award-winning American record producer and singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams is making waves with his latest single, Airplane Ticket.

The song, released on December 8, is a collaboration with American rapper Swae Lee and Pueto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro, and comes with an official music video, which has equally grabbed the attention of fans.

All performers exhibit exceptionality on the upbeat rhythm, which is said to have been announced previously by Pharrell Williams at a Louis Vuitton Men’s runway show in Hong Kong.

Airplane Tickets is “a global music experience that invites listeners on a journey that transcends borders.”

The song is a blend of creativity and multicultural influences, as the artistes come from diverse backgrounds. Its official video has had close to one million views since it premiered.

The trendy tune is themed around giving ladies a special treat by way of excursions, international travel, and fashion. The video is said to have been shot in Hong Kong, as it explores some of the cities.

In 2013, Pharrell produced and was featured alongside T.I. on the song “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke. His song “Happy” was the lead single for the soundtrack of the film Despicable Me 2; both songs reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as other charts around the globe. 

The singer has many recognitions, including 13 Grammy Awards for Producer of the Year. In 2014, he won the award for Best Original Song for Happy (from Despicable Me 2), and in 2017 for Best Picture, as a producer of Hidden Figures.

His passion for music and fashion has been well-commended, as he has continued to distinguish himself in both fields.

In February 2023, Louis Vuitton announced Pharrell as its new creative director, displaying his first collection at the Paris Men’s Fashion Week in June 2023.
