Beyoncé’s Mom Defends Her Following Skin Bleaching Claims: “You Bozos”

After accusations of skin bleaching appeared on the internet over Beyoncé’s mom, Ms. Tina is defending her against the barrage of comments.

On Tuesday, November 28, the 69-year-old took to Instagram to defend her daughter after images from the Renaissance film premiere surfaced, appearing to show Beyoncé with a paler complexion than usual.

The post was intended to chastise those who are disparaging her oldest child and suggesting that she “wants to be white.”

The post was a fan-made video of the singer with her Grammy-winning single, Brown Skin Girl, playing in the background.

“I found this today and decided to post it after seeing all of the stupid ignorant self, hating racist statements about her, lightening her skin, and wearing platinum hair wanting to be white. “You people who are so blind to believe that she is bleaching her skin in an attempt to pass for ‘white’ when she stars in a movie called The Renaissance with a silver theme that includes silver hair, a silver carpet, and suggested silver attire? To what extent is the stupid narrative perpetuated by jealous and hateful members of her own community?”, Ms Tina quipped.

Beyonce’s mother stated that Neal Farinah, her daughter’s hairstylist, was contacted by someone from TMZ to obtain a statement regarding remarks made by fans regarding the singer’s desire “to be white.”

“Well, that made my blood boil—that this white woman felt so entitled to discuss her blackness,” Tina said. “What’s really, really disappointing is that there are some black people—yes, you bozos—who are lying, pretending, and acting like you don’t know that black women have been wearing platinum hair since the Etta James era on social media. I recently went and took a look at all the stunning, gifted black celebrities who have worn platinum hair at some point in their lives. Almost all of them have done so. Do they all aspire to be Caucasian?”

The video concluded with a poignant message that read, “Beyoncé is a brown-skinned girl, sometimes more or less light. A brown-skinned girl’s [sic] more than a skin color. It’s a culture, a pride, a strength.”

Beyoncé has not issued her own statement on the online chatter or her mother’s remarks.

However, several people praised Ms. Tina for defending Beyoncé.

Keke Palmer commented, “I love you so much, Ms. Tina! She deserves to be protected in this way!” and Jessie J added, “A mother standing up for her daughter. Well said!’’
