American rapper TI, known in private life as Clifford Joseph Harris Jr, has given back to society in a big way.

The Atlanta-born rapper has built an affordable housing project in his home city. The housing community was opened on November 14.

According to The Source, the project is a collaboration between T.I., Atlanta Housing, aand Missouri-based Vecino Group.

Known as Intrada Westside, it is a 100% affordable housing community consists of 140 residential units and emphasizes inclusivity by dedicating 25 units specifically to permanent supportive housing (PSH) under Atlanta Housing’s HomeFlex-HAVEN program.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by key figures such as Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Atlanta Housing Chief Operating Officer Terri Lee.

Speaking at the ceremony Atlanta Housing’s COO Terri Lee described the project as “a remarkable multi-family development that stands out for its dedication to affordable housing and for providing housing for persons who were homeless.”

For T.I., the project was a testimony of the power of arts and entertainment to transform the lives of the people.

“The arts and entertainment industry in this city has been able to collaborate and be, I guess, profitable enough to offer the community so many things that are much-needed,” T.I. said.

Photos shared on Twitter showed T.I. nicely-dressed in sit and being helped to cut the ribbon by his wife, Tiny Harris, and others.
