Former NBA Coach and player, Byron Scott, has been accused of assaulting a teenager back in 1987 when he was 26.
According to the suit, the teenager was 15 at the time the reported assault occurred. Sources say the suit was first filed in December 2022, with the accuser requesting to remain anonymous.

However, a judge denied the anonymity request last week, prompting the accuser’s lawyer to file an amendment revealing the name of the complainant.
Though the name has not been released, the allegations indicate that the assault occurred when the Los Angeles Lakers, for which Scott was a team member, were visiting Campbell Hall High School in Los Angeles to film an instructional video in the gym and meet with parents and staff.

“Our client is devastated by this complaint. Our client believed the plaintiff to be over 18 and had no idea she would claim otherwise until 35 years later. He respects girls and women, and the claims have blindsided him and his family,” a layer for Scott was quoted.
Other details indicate that the High School where the reported assault took place has also been sued for “failing to keep the teenager safe.” Per the filing, Scott and one other person are to pay over $25,000 in damages, in addition to legal and other related fees.
