Legendary actor, Samuel L. Jackson, has congratulated his wife, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, for earning a Tony nomination. She was selected for Best Performance as Lead Actress in the production tilted Purpose.
Mr Jackson released an Instagram post on Thursday May 1, to celebrate his wife, stating: “Congratulations to the incredible @ltjackson_ on this most deserved recognition…When diamonds meet, Tonys happen.”

LaTanya shared a statement with some outlets, expressing her excitement about the nomination.
“Being back on Broadway in a play as monumental as Purpose has been an incredible challenge and a true gift…Thank you to our playwright, the once in a generation talent, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins; and to our director, the great Phylicia Rashad.

“I share this wholeheartedly with the entire company of our show, and especially my exceptional ensemble cast: Harry, Jon, Alana, Glenn and Kara. My cup is overflowing with the most grateful appreciation,” she said.
LaTanya Richardson Jackson recently described she direct her husband, Samuel L. Jackson, on set, for the movie The Piano Lesson, saying he was a hard nut to crack.
Asked if her husband took her instructions well, she replied: “No, because he’s so old, he thinks he knows everything. He’s been there, done that, and who are you”.
Despite her partner proving ‘stubborn’ sometimes, LaTanya said she always stamped her authority during the production, stressing that: “I told him ‘in this room, it’s about what I say. It’s not gonna be about you, it’s gonna be about me,” she noted.

That authority, she added, was necessary because she needed other cast members on set to listen and take her instructions seriously as well.
