Kanye West’s Donda 2 album, which was released to major streaming platforms, has reportedly been removed hours after it went public.

This was after some individuals the musician had worked with threatened legal action for not receiving payment for making various input on the project.

The work labeled as Donda, was released to Spotify, Tidal, and YouTube Music on April 30. It was initially exclusive to users of Kanye West’s streaming platform, Stem Player.

In a post with screenshots on X, Kanye named the individuals who produced eight of the songs on the 18-track record, saying they requested the album be taken down over his failure to pay them for their work.

“We did not and do not consent to the usage of our work for Donda 2 or ANY Ye project! He’s owed us $ for almost 3 years now, has refused to pay, yet keeps stealing our work…The Lawyers are getting this taken down within the hour,” part of the screenshot read.

It is not clear how the controversial artiste intends to settle the score with the persons demanding payment.

Kanye had early on indicated that he was hoping to make the project available to a wider audience.

Following the release, the tracks were said to be no different from those on the previously restricted album, except that some of the titles on the album came with different names.

Early in April, Kanye West apologised to Jay-Z, following his unruly comments concerning his fellow musician and Beyoncé’s children.

West had made a series of social media posts referring, among other things, to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s children as “retarded.”  His apology was contained in a post on X (Twitter) but did not come without other unprintable words targeted at other people.
