The 2023 single Escapism released by British singer RAYE featuring fellow artiste, 070 Shake, has reached one billion streams on Spotify. The song is her first recording to attain this milestone.
The groundbreaking development was confirmed on Sunday, April 27, 2025, two years after she launched her first UK Number One single.

RAYE is said to have had a turbulent journey in the music industry. This recognition would, therefore, be another defining moment in her career.
The track was part of the collection on the album titled ‘My 21st Century Blues’. Speaking about her rocky music journey in 2022, she noted:

“When you sign with a record label, technically they work for you: you’re signing to a company for them to work for your career and take you to that next level.
“But as a woman, it just doesn’t feel like that. It feels like you’re working for them. And you know, some of the things I had to put my body through… It’s quite sad.”

In November 2024, RAYE announced Water hitmaker, Tyla, as one of the supporting acts for the headline show All Points East 2025, to take place at Victoria Park in East London on Saturday, August 23.
Expressed anticipation on Instagram at the time, she wrote: “We are going to be bringing you a beautiful show full of passion and incredible musicians to Victoria Park. I’m going to work hard to make it the most beautiful show we are capable of.

Raye has earned three Grammy nominations, appearing in categories including: best new artist, songwriter (non-classical) and engineered album (non-classical).
In July 2024, the award-winning singer and songwriter released a new single titled Genesis, which she was “so proud of”.

She performed a live version of the song at a special pop-up exhibition in New York City before releasing the studio version of the seven-minute song on Friday, June 7, 2024.
In a statement following the release, she said the best way to “reflect on the times” was through her art and music.”

She described Genesis as “a prayer and a plea and a cry for help,” adding: “I really hope this song will be able to bring some hope, the way this music does for me, to those who need it most.”
