“The Bodyguard”: Kim K Set To Play Lead Role In The Remake Of Blockbuster

From the moment it was announced that Warner Bros. is developing a remake of the 1992 romantic blockbuster The Bodyguard, there have been names making waves to play the lead actress.

One name that kept coming up was Taylor Swift.

The assumption of Taylor playing the lead role in The Bodyguard remake is because the film is being directed by Sam Wrench, the person who directed her 2023 film about the Eras Tour.

The film originally starred Whitney Houston as singer Rachel Marron, who is stalked by a deranged fan, and co-starred Kevin Costner as her devoted bodyguard, Frank Farmer.

It, however, seems producers have different plans, as it is alleged that they have been secretly speaking to another TV personality for over a month now.

Though no official casting announcements have been made, recent speculation of Kim Kardashian being considered for the lead role includes rumored potential leads like Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Channing Tatum, and Cardi B.

However, given the Tony Award-winning playwright Matthew López’s emphasis on casting a Latina actress and aiming to reimagine the story for today’s audience, this rumour seems unlikely.

However, according to the Mail, which reported on Sunday that the film script allegedly has been ‘specifically tailored’ to Kim Kardashian, who is said to be anxious to make her big-screen debut as a leading lady.

‘There have already been multiple meetings, and the script has been written with Kim in mind.’

The original film was nominated for two Oscars, and the soundtrack became the top-selling movie soundtrack of all time with hits including I Will Always Love You, I Have Nothing, and Run To You.

The film took over $400 million at the box office, with the soundtrack selling more than 50 million copies worldwide, winning the Grammy for Album of the Year.
