J. Cole ended the final Dreamville Festival on Sunday night, April 6, 2025, with a surprise performance alongside Erykah Badu.
The two hip-hop icons performed Too Deep for the Intro together for the first time. The song, from Cole’s 2010 mixtape Friday Night Lights, samples Badu’s 2000 hit Didn’t Cha Know?
The moment was special as Cole wrapped up what he confirmed would be the last Dreamville Festival in its current form.

After performing the duet, he continued with more old songs from his catalogue, including Grown Simba, Looking For Trouble, and Rags to Riches (At the Beep). He also gave fans the first live performance of his new single cLOUDs.
The rapper used his headline set to update fans on the future of the event. He stated that while Dreamville Festival is ending under that name, a new version of the festival is in the works and will return.
He explained that planning and running the event had become a major task but reassured fans that something new would replace it soon.

Promoter Sascha Stone Guttfreund also confirmed that the festival is not ending completely.
Dreamville and Roc Nation have a new multi-year deal with the city of Raleigh, and a rebranded festival will continue in the same location with changes to its structure and name.
The 2025 edition of the festival brought out several big names. Lil Wayne and the Hot Boys performed a reunion set, while 21 Savage, GloRilla, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Erykah Badu delivered strong sets of their own.
Dreamville Festival originally started as a way to put a spotlight on music from North Carolina and became one of the top festivals in the country.
