A freshly acquitted ASAP Rocky has officially been appointed as Ray-Ban‘s first creative director just days after he was found not guilty.

The rapper and fashion magnate was found not guilty at a jury trial in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Where he was being charged with firing a handgun amid a beef with former friend ASAP Relli in 2021.

ASAP Rocky is known for his trendsetting influence in both music and fashion.

Rocky intends to keep the momentum going with Ray-Ban Studios, lending his unique vision to the popular eyewear brand.

Ray-Ban Studios, the creative platform that launched in 2016, focuses a lens on mixing the power and influence of music and artists’ stories.

The new role comes as no surprise, as the multi-hyphenate artist has often been spotted wearing Ray-Ban shades on several occasions.

According to the eyewear brand, ASAP Rocky’s role will find him taking on the task of bringing “his distinctive vision to Ray-Ban Studios, guiding creative projects, and shaping the future of the brand’s image and design.”

Under his leadership, Ray-Ban is set to roll out the Blacked Out Collection in April.

The rapper’s upcoming range is said to be a redesign of the Mega Icons line, complete with a new lens type.

The Blacked Out Collection will feature a blend of Ray-Ban’s contemporary culture with Rocky’s signature style.

Traditional icon styles are turned Mega, featuring gold-plated details and brand-new ultra-black lenses.

More designs are said to be expected in the coming months as Rocky puts his stamp on creative projects.

Rocky shared in a statement:

“I’ve always admired Ray-Ban’s ability to stay true to its roots while constantly evolving.

“I’m excited to be part of the strong heritage and develop the next chapter for an iconic brand like Ray-Ban.”

Rocky’s involvement is said to extend beyond designing eyewear by directing campaigns and redesigning Ray-Ban stores while incorporating music, fashion, and the arts.
