Music enthusiasts woke to news about Reggae Blues crooner Harrysong marrying 30 wives in a day, and it has since been expressions of bewilderment and well-wishes for the Nigerian singer-songwriter.

The Afrobeats artiste himself has yet to make a statement about the supposed nuptial, but social media is awash with pictures juxtaposing the singer with radiant brides in red outfits, although the location and other details of the ceremony are not provided.

Considering the reported number of new spouses, the Afrobeats performer is said to have annulled the record set by legendary Afrobeat star Fella Kuti who grabbed 27 wives.

Netizens have been wondering how the 42-year-old would manage his numerous partners and what the implication of his decision would be if it did not turn out to be a publicity stunt after all.

Harrysong, born Harrison Tare Okiri, has been on the music scene since 2008, meddling in R&B, Afropop, African Hip-hop, Dancehall, and Highlife.

The instrumentalist and performer rose to fame after his tribute song, Nelson Mandela, won the “Most Downloaded Callertune” Award at the Headies Awards in 2013.

He has several records to his credit, but the single Reggae Blues, released in 2015, is arguably one of his most viral songs, which a lot of young African music fanatics have come to know him for. This thumping high-tempo rhythm was and is still a party banger. It features other exceptional Nigerian performers, including Kcee, Olamide, Inyanya, and Orezi.

Harrysong is said to have been a performer in nightclubs before he met Kcee, the Limpopo hitmaker, who introduced him to other music personalities.

In 2014, Harry was nominated in the Best Pop/R&B Artiste of the Year category at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards after releasing the single, Beta Pikin.

Signed on to record labels, Five Star Music and QuestionMark Entertainment, his other records include Kolombo, Feel It (Africa), Asante, Be by Me, and She Knows, which features Fireboy DML and Olamide.

In 2014, he won the Best Music Video Award for Kolombo at the 9th Nigeria Music Video Awards. He was again adjudged the “Creative Person of the Year” for the song Himself at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards. Reggae Blues also won Best Pop Single at the Headies Awards in 2017.

Harry is said to be the only child of his parents. After the death of his mother, a strained relationship between him and his stepmother led to his involvement with music after he moved to Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
