Drake unleashed his $ome Sexy $ongs 4 U joint album with PartyNextDoor on the day of Love (February 14), and as usual, the lyrics to some of the songs have fans already engaging in discourse.

The Valentine’s Day project was marketed as a body of work that would lean more into R&B and the ladies.

However, that didn’t stop the Canadian rapper from referencing his infamous beef with Kendrick Lamar that unfolded somewhere in the middle of 2024.

On one of the songs titled “Gimme A Hug,” Drizzy gave props to 21 Savage for being the only rapper who consistently checked in on him during his famous rap beef with Kendrick Lamar.

Drake, on Gimme A Hug, rapped:

“Savage, you the only n**ga checkin’ on me when we really in some sh*t, brother.”

Drake and Kendrick’s rap beef has spawned several side battles after people allegedly started choosing sides.

This was confirmed when Drake’s disdain with DeMar DeRozan targeted LeBron James in Fighting Irish Freestyle, where he rapped about “people turning their backs”.

He even implied he no longer wanted to work with DJ Khaled and even denied his already-recorded features on the producer’s upcoming album.

As his friend circle gets tighter, the Toronto rapper confirmed he’s still in good standing with 21 Savage.

The Gimme A Hug track also highlights some shots directed at Joe Budden. The shots come right after the 21 Savage line, where the God’s Plan crooner noted:

“Melyssa Ford, you’re a legend from the 6; hate to see you with a d**k-sucker.”

Even though the shots attempt to label Melyssa Ford in an uplifting manner, the mention of her name is in the line of fire due to her role as Joe Budden’s co-host on The Joe Budden Podcast.
