Entrepreneur and record executive Dame Dash is the latest to share his thoughts as the rap world continues to mourn the late Irv Gotti.
He spoke about the impact of Irv’s death and his relationship with the departed musicmaker.

“It’s the type of thing where I’m not surprised based on what I knew was going on with his health and the way he was approaching it, but it’s still shocking…
“Regardless to what our relationship was in that very moment, you know we brothers. We known each other almost 30 years,” he said on his YouTube channel, America Nu Network.

Dash explained that even though they were not too close, the past few years, he cared for him and offered up any assistance needed.
“Me and Irv weren’t seeing eye to eye for the last couple years, but when I found out the struggles, I texted him and I said, ‘Irv, regardless of what – we brothers and I don’t wanna see you die,” he added and shared a few texts they had both exchanged.

The Murder Inc. Records founder passed away on February 5, after he reportedly suffered a second stroke in a year.
R&B singer Ashanti, in a recent post, praised the late record producer but acknowledged that they both had a complicated relationship at the time of his passing.

“I can’t believe things ended like this…and it makes me sad. We weren’t on the best terms the past few years but as I’ve always said, through our ups and downs I will forever be grateful for everything that you’ve done for me.
“We made history and that will remain infinite. I’ve always respected your musical genius and ability to push me to be my best,” she said…All the greatness and positive things that came, far outweigh the dark and negative times,” she added.
The late producer had reportedly made allegations about his professional and personal relationship with Ashanti, which circulated in the media for years.

He had spoken about how he fell in love with Ashanti and what led to their split. But Ashanti had said the narrative was not true.
“It’s weird. It’s very weird when you know you’re lying and you just keep lying. That’s where it becomes a little scary and a little mental.
“I’m trying to figure out what made him even say that. Was I there? I’m confused. I don’t remember this at all,” the songstress was quoted at the time.
