Budding country music icon Shaboozey has provided some details about her friendship with Beyoncé, who he collaborated with recently on the Cowboy Carter album.

“It’s always cool when the queen comes and tells me, ‘Hey I watched your performance…I’m like ‘Ah, super sick,’ Gotta keep it in the family,” the Nigerian said in a recent chat with E! News.

The Bar Song composer highlighted the excitement and experience gained in working with Beyonce, adding that the leader of the Beehive is the person he is eager to hear from.

“Definitely Beyoncé—always…I love it when I get that text from her that’s like, ‘Yeah, you killed it…

“She just tells me when she was little, the places she performed and she was nervous and had to get over that and find the strength to get out there and do what she does…

“She’s the hardest working woman in music, maybe the hardest working human in music,” he noted.

Shaboozey, SZATyla, and Drake were some of the names who stole the spotlight at the Billboard Music Awards in December last year. They were decorated at the MGM Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Others, like country music stars Zach Bryan and Taylor Swift, were at the top of the list and also left with some awards. The likes of Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, Tyla, Travis Scott, and Chris Brown also added some trophies to their award shelves.

Prior to this, Shaboozey stated that he was suing his former record company to reclaim his songwriting rights.

The singer-songwriter reportedly filed this action, saying that the company was impeding his attempts to retrieve his publishing rights, despite a contractual provision permitting him to do so.

His case involved music publisher Warner Chappell, whom he blamed for stonewalling his efforts to exercise a contractual provision that would give him an early exit from the deal.
