The task of selecting either the best or the most impactful era of Kendrick Lamar’s music has proven to be a challenge for most producers and music lovers, as each project has its unique characteristics.

Records such as To Pimp A Butterfly or good kid, m.A.A.d city always appear to place themselves neck to neck when it comes to the job of zeroing in on a record that solidified him as the standard in hip-hop.

Even though DAMN is not the most beloved by his hardcore fan base, the 2017 comeback will always be a special moment, as the crossover appeal of the record did not detract from the fact that it’s still a highly conceptual LP.

For that reason, it remains Lamar’s most popular album in terms of streams because of the songwriting and the plentiful pop rap and R&B cuts, making it more digestible for the casual fan.
DAMN, per available records, has over 9.1 billion streams per Kworb, and the producers played a major role in making this tape what it was.
The brains behind it, per hotnewhiphop.com, include Dahi, Mike WiLL Made-It, Sounwave, and Steve Lacy.

Another person who could have been a part of DAMN.‘s stacked roster is Timbaland. The Virginia native has been in the booth with some of the biggest rap and pop stars for decades. A reshared clip from a Kung Fu Kenny fan page shows Timbaland previewing a track from that acclaimed era.
