Donald Trump is scheduled to be sworn into office on January 20, and unlike his first inauguration in 2017, which reportedly struggled to book high-profile celebrities, this year’s inaugural events have several well-known artistes that are set to partake in it.
Among these well-known artistes are Snoop Dogg, Nelly, and others who have joined the list of entertainers performing at Donald Trump’s inaugural events.
Although Snoop Dogg is just one of the many performers lined up for Trump’s inaugural events.
According to CNN, others like Nelly are also reportedly attending the Liberty Inaugural Ball on Monday, where the President is also expected to be in attendance.
NBC News has also reported that rappers Rod Wave, Kodak Black, and Fivio Foreign will also allegedly attend events.
On Friday, Snoop Dogg played at the Crypto Ball in Washington, D.C., hosted by David Sacks, Trump’s crypto czar pick, to celebrate the incoming administration.
The news came as a shock to lots of people, especially when it came to Snoop, given how outspoken he was previously about Trump.
Snoop criticized the “reckless” former CEO in 2016, saying he didn’t understand how someone like Trump could be president.
“Fuck Donald Trump,” he said on Instagram. “We’re not voting for your punk ass. Go get you a new hairdo, bitch ass [N-word].”
Later when Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, Snoop said anyone who performed at his inauguration was essentially a sellout, branding them Uncle Toms.
The rapper further encouraged people not to vote for Trump ahead of the 2020 election, saying,
“If you do vote for him, y’all are some stupid motherfuckers.”
However, Snoop’s attitude toward Donald Trump seems to have softened ever since Trump’s presidency pardoned his Death Row Records peer Michael Harris in 2021.
But people are still surprised by his decision to perform at an inaugural event for the twice-impeached politician.
