Nelly and Ashanti are in the news again, for all the lovely reasons. In 2024, the two performers welcomed their first child together after months of rampant pregnancy rumors.
Before that, they reunited after a whopping two decades apart and even decided to tie the knot. Nowadays, the lovebirds appear to be doing better than ever, recently enjoying a wholesome double date with their friends, Ja Rule and Aisha Atkins.
In a clip from the fun outing, Ashanti and Nelly are seen breaking out into song after getting a strike. Nelly was sure to mock Ja Rule’s rap voice, leaving his wife nearly in tears.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Nelly and Ashanti will star in an upcoming Peacock docuseries about their relationship. Presumably, the documentary will focus on their first year of marriage, along with the birth of their son.

According to Deadline, they’ve been filming for the past few months, but for now, a title and premiere date for the series is yet to be announced.
It’s also rumored that Ashanti and Nelly’s family could be growing. Back in November, a source told The Jasmine Brand that they’re reportedly expecting their second child. During their New Year’s Eve performance, Nelly even jokingly questioned what Ashanti was drinking onstage, prompting her to clarify that it was just water.

In other news, Nelly was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Gaming Division at the Hollywood Casino around 5:00 AM on Wednesday over a failure to appear warrant from 2018 out of Maryland Heights.
To make matters worse, he had four ecstasy pills, a controlled substance, and was without insurance at the time. Maryland Heights Police picked him up from the highway patrol and placed him under arrest. He’s since been released from jail.
Nelly has yet to speak out on the situation on social media. His mugshot is currently floating around the internet, in which he appears in a black hoodie with a white t-shirt and a necklace.
