Musicians Travis Scott, SZA, and Future would have to respond to a complaint of copyright infringement in a 2023 song collaboration.
The artistes worked together on the release titled Telekinesis which was a part of Scott’s fourth studio album, Utopia. However, a singer-songwriter, Victory Boyd, has said she never permitted the artistes to use the lyrics and other elements of the song.

Victory Boyd, described as signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label, claims the lyrics and other elements were from her 2019 track Like the Way It Sounds.
The lawsuit is also said to include Sony Music Entertainment and luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet, who used Telekinesis in an advertisement.

Sources quote Victory Boyd saying she shared her song with Kanye West, who recorded his rendition and later played it to Scott, SZA, and Future. However, the trio used Boyd’s lyrics and melodies without permission.
Reports indicate that Scott, SZA, and Future acknowledged using Boyd’s work and credited her in the song’s streaming metadata, but Boyd insists she never authorized the use of her song, adding that she planned to release her version via Roc Nation.

In August last year, Travis Scott walked free, without any charges pressed against him, after he was detained in police custody in France.
The musician was reportedly arrested following a fight with a security guard at a hotel in Paris. He was in the French capital to attend the Olympic Games, where he was seen at the U.S. men’s basketball game.
A statement available from the Paris prosecutor’s office said the police custody order for Travis Scott had been lifted and all proceedings were “terminated because the incident was minor.”
Sources close to the artiste confirmed that the Skeletons rapper was released with no charge. They said there were no injuries to any party involved, and neither were there any plans to charge Scott in the future.
Following his arrest, internet personality Kai Cenat pleaded with French police to release his compatriot.
