Lil Baby has achieved another career milestone. Not only is his latest album, WHAM (Who Hard As Me), set to make waves on the charts, but his 2020 project My Turn has now earned a place in music history.
According to Billboard’s newly released list of the Top Billboard 200 Albums of the 21st Century, My Turn ranks as the most popular rap album of the century, securing the eighth spot overall.
The list, which evaluates performance on the Billboard 200 from January 1, 2000, through December 28, 2024, places My Turn behind only a handful of major artists: Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, Adele, the Hamilton cast recording, and Post Malone. Notably, Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding also made the top ten.
Other rap icons like Kendrick Lamar’s Damn and Drake’s Views appear in the top 30, with My Turn solidifying Lil Baby’s legacy.
Lil Baby’s newfound success comes just as he releases WHAM, his highly anticipated 15-track album, featuring collaborations with artists like Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, GloRilla, and Rod Wave. According to predictions, WHAM is expected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with an impressive 115k-125k album equivalent units.
If these predictions hold true, WHAM will mark Lil Baby’s fourth consecutive No. 1 album, following My Turn, 2021’s The Voice of the Heroes with Lil Durk, and It’s Only Me from 2022. Looking ahead, Lil Baby is gearing up for even more. He recently revealed that WHAM won’t be his only release of 2025.
