After celebrating the arrival of their first child, Nelly and Ashanti will share intricate aspects of their love story in an upcoming documentary series.
The project, according to sources, is in the pipeline and will be available on the streaming outlet Peacock.
Spearheaded by the company known as Critical Content, the celebrity couple also serve as executive producers together with other notable personalities.
Nelly and Ashanti are reported to have been filming the show for the past few months, and it is expected to highlight, among other things, how they have coped with taking care of their new baby.
Nelly has five children from a previous relationship, but their baby, Kareem Kenkaide Hayes, is Ashanti’s first child.
The couple is known to have started dating between 2003 and 2013 before tying the knot in December 2023. Fans say their love story, in the form of a documentary, would attract lots of interest.
“Ashanti and Nelly welcomed their baby boy, Kareem Kenkaide Hayes, on July 18, 2024…The proud and happy parents are so in love with KK!” a representative confirmed to some outlets in August last year.
Ashanti and Nelly had indicated that their son’s name, Kareem, means “generous, kind, and dignified.”
“His dad named him with a lot of pride…Having all of us in the delivery room and seeing his face for the first time, I cried; it was just so emotional and spiritual at the same time,” Ashanti was quoted.
The Always On Time hitmaker shared photos of herself wearing disposable underwear, suggesting she had given birth, and listed some titles of her composition in the caption.
After this good news, the showstoppers became the center of attraction when they both put on an enthralling act at the annual Black and White Charity event in Missouri St. Louis last year.
Pictures from the occasion captured the lovers smiling at each other as they graced the stage with their dance moves and hit songs.
Ashanti twerked for Nelly during the performance, in short clips that appeared online, attracting hearty responses from followers.
Nelly’s annual Black and White Charity event, held at the Four Seasons Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri, was to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which works to improve the lives of children battling critical illnesses.
The couple turned up in one of their best looks and dazzled guests with their infectious personality. Ashanti joined Nelly on stage to perform her 2002 hit What’s Luv.
