Bronx rapper-turned-TV host Fat Joe has built a reputation for landing A-list guests on his STARZ show Fat Joe Talks. However, one name continues to elude him: former U.S. President Barack Obama.

Fat Joe has been trying to secure an interview with Obama since his groundbreaking victory in 2008 and has spoken fondly about the former president’s influence.

Recalling Obama’s first acceptance speech in Chicago’s Grant Park, he described the moment as unforgettable, noting the overwhelming pride and unity it inspired in millions of people, himself included.

While Fat Joe’s ambitions in television are clear, he is also making a major push in music. After a 15-year hiatus from releasing solo albums, the rap legend returned with The World Changed On Me in December, a project that signals his determination to reclaim a spot in the hip-hop spotlight.

The rapper credited Grammy-winning artist Killer Mike as a key influence in his decision to come out of retirement. Killer Mike’s multiple Grammy wins in 2024, stemming from his album Michael, reignited Fat Joe’s passion for creating music. The Bronx emcee revealed that witnessing the triumphs of his peers motivated him to return to the studio with renewed energy and determination.

Fat Joe’s latest album showcases collaborations with notable artists, including Babyface and Anitta, blending various genres to appeal to a broad audience. With this comeback, he has set his sights on award recognition, including a long-held dream of winning a Grammy.

The rapper admitted that his journey back into music was unexpected but fulfilling. Inspired by Killer Mike’s success, he felt it was possible to achieve greatness again. Fat Joe expressed confidence in his new project, highlighting the creative spark that led him back to the studio after a long break.
