Billboard has declared GloRilla the hottest female rapper of 2024, cementing her place at the top of the rap game.

The publication unveiled its year-end list on Wednesday, December 4, ranking the top 10 women in hip-hop, with GloRilla leading the pack. Following her in the top spots are Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, Sexyy Red, and Latto, among others.

GloRilla’s journey to the top was not without challenges. After experiencing a dip in 2023 with singles like Cha Cha failing to match the success of her earlier hits F.N.F. (Let’s Go) and Tomorrow 2, the Memphis rapper made a powerful comeback.

Her breakout moment came with the release of Yeah Glo! at the beginning of 2024. The track soared into the top 30 of the Billboard Hot 100, showcasing her determination and resilience.

The momentum didn’t stop there. Collaborations and chart-topping singles, including Wanna Be with Megan Thee Stallion and the summer anthem TGIF, kept her in the spotlight. Her success resonated beyond the music industry, earning praise from pop icons like Rihanna and Taylor Swift. Even political figures took notice, with Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly reaching out during a crucial campaign period.

GloRilla’s debut album, GLORIOUS, further solidified her dominance. The album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, boasting the highest opening week for a female rapper in 2024, with 69,000 album-equivalent units sold. This achievement marked a significant milestone, especially following the release of her earlier mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang.
