Television personality and rapper Nick Cannon has opened up about his diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).

He is ranked as a strong advocate for mental health and has now come public about his struggles. Speaking to People Magazine, he emphasized needing help for the condition, following a test conducted recently.

The 44-year-old indicated that conversations about his mental health could help other people find help for their challenges.

“I feel like there’s so many labels out there, but it’s like, to be able to embrace it and say, ‘Look, I’m healing. I need help. Show me.’ I just embrace mental health and therapy in such a strong way. To be able to say I’m an example for others, but also be healing during the self-process works too,” he stated.

In October, the outspoken personality recalled attending a party at age 16, which was organized by embattled performer Sean Diddy Combs.

While some celebrities were dissociating themselves from Diddy, Nick clarified that the parties were not one of Diddy’s so-called “freak off” sessions.

Nick Cannon, in an interview on The Breakfast Club, said he was about 16 to 17 years old when he attended one of Diddy’s parties.

“I live my truth. I remember standing outside, you know, trying to get into a Puff party out here in New York… Everybody was Like, how the ‘One More Chance’ video looked, that’s the real stuff out here.

“I was in there Harlem shaking, doing all of that stuff,” the father of 12 recalled, explaining that the Bad Boy parties were the talk of town back in the day so he had to find his way to one of the events.

Nicholas Scott Cannon, 44, began his career as a teenager on All That Show before moving on to host other programs like his own The Nick Cannon Show, Wild ‘n Out, America’s Got Talent, Lip Sync Battle Shorties, and others.

He starred in movies including Drumline, Love Don’t Cost a Thing, and Roll Bounce, and as a rapper, he released his debut self-titled album in 2003 with the single Gigolo, collaborating with singer R. Kelly.
