Bishop T.D. Jakes’ daughter, Sarah Jakes, has provided an update on her father’s health after the preacher reportedly experienced a health emergency during his sermon on Sunday, November 24.
Reports indicate he was delivering a sermon at The Potter’s House Church in Dallas when he suddenly started shaking, and many people rushed to help him.
Some videos went viral with people speculating that he may have had a stroke. However, Bishop Jakes’ has said in a social media post that her father was recovering well.
“Hey family. I know today’s been an interesting day for us. But we didn’t want to lay down without giving you all an update about how everything is going with Bishop.”
“Yeah we felt those prayers…Obviously today could have been a tragic day. But it wasn’t by the mercy of God, by the grace of God. Bishop is doing well. He’s recovering well. He’s under medical care. He’s strong. We’re trying to get him to sit down. He’s the strong Bishop that we know,” Sarah and her partners stated, and thanked individuals and family for the support and prayers.

“I’m so grateful that he’s already beginning to improve and I think it’s just a reminder even going into this holiday season week to love on the people who you hold near and dear and just take the time to be grateful for all the people God’s given you,” she added.
Potter’s House also released a statement confirming that Bishop Jakes was stable after his “slight health incident” and was under the care of health professionals.
In December 2023, Bishop T.D. Jakes broke his silence on allegations linking him to under-fire rapper and business mogul Sean Diddy Combs.
In a statement believed to be from the televangelist’s representative, the alleged claims making rounds on social media were said to be “unequivocally false and baseless.”
The alleged rumor about Jakes started on Monday, December 18, when a video appeared on social media suggesting that the preacher had attended several Diddy-hosted events, dated people of the same gender, and engaged in improper sexual behavior with a minor.
Despite requiring verification that the video’s content was accurate, several social media influencers shared it.
The popular preacher became a trending topic on multiple social media platforms within minutes after the video went viral, with one TikTok account that also posted it reaching nearly 2 million views.
Shortly afterward, Bishop T.D. Jakes’ team issued a statement defending the pastor’s honor and addressing the authenticity of the accusations to preserve his reputation.
