Sources close to Kendrick Lamar have said he has lined up several artists, including Taylor Swift for his next album.
Popular DJ Snake hinted about Lamar’s next project and named Taylor Swift as one of the collaborators. The speculation has, however, not been confirmed by either Lamar or Swift.
Lamar contributed to the remix of Taylor Swift’s hit track Bad Blood in 2014, which became a reference point in his feud with Drake.
Kendrick Lamar recently grabbed eight of eleven nominations at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, taking home accolades for Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year, Lyricist of the Year, and others.
In October, Rihanna endorsed Kendrick Lamar for the Super Bowl Halftime performance, saying she had no reservations about his selection as headline artiste.
Appearing on the Entertainment Tonight show to discuss a wide range of issues, she said the Not Like Us hitmaker deserved the nomination and looked forward to his exciting performance next year.
“…It’s a diamond on a ring finger, honey, it’s meant to be. It’s Kendrick Lamar. He deserves it. I cannot wait to see it…
“Kendrick is the one that’s supposed to do it right now. We should never doubt him. He’s an amazing artist, top tier…He actually brought so many people together, that’s what culture is, the Umbrella singer noted”
Early this year, Taylor Swift released her Tortured Poets Department album after winning her 13th Grammy for the album Midnights.
Tortured Poets Department had guest appearances, including Sunflower crooner Post Malone. Other tracks on the project are: My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, Down Bad, So Long, London, But Daddy I Love Him, Fresh Out the Slammer, Guilty as Sin, and others.
She became Spotify’s Global Top Artist in 2023 and was also the biggest female winner at the Billboard Music Awards. Describing the feeling as unreal, she thanked her fans, saying the recognition was the best birthday gift she could have received.
