Reality star Shantel Jackson has come under fire for saying she is done dating black men

The actress, who has a history with rapper Nelly and boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., remarked while speaking to some fans online.

When a fan asked if she had ever dated a white man, Shantell noted that she was done dating white men, but her response did not go down well with some listeners.

“Don’t judge me, don’t cancel me; I don’t know what to call it, but I told myself like I told my mom, I told my dad, I laugh about it with my friend, and I would be like I’m done dating Black men,” she stated.

The 40-year-old had been with Floyd Mayweather Jr. They dated for four years before Jackson ended the relationship.

In 2014, Jackson reportedly filed a civil lawsuit against Mayweather for “battery, assault, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy.”

That was after Mayweather was said to have posted photos of Jackson’s sonogram, revealing that she had an abortion, and for that reason, he was ending the relationship.

After many allegations and counter-accusations, the partners managed to reach “a private settlement to resolve all their claims.”

Following this episode, Shantel began dating Nelly for seven years before it ended in 2021, on mutual grounds. Having had an unsuccessful stint with these men, the actress is now eying white men.

“…I’m out and I see a few white guys and they seem cool but I’m taken back a little…I want to see what dating a white guy is like. Let me go to the other side being that my mom is Black, my dad is white let me go to the other side,” she added.

A fan reacted to the the post saying: “I smell desperation,” adding, “Just skip straight to Caucasian…Like, try or mixed race…just going straight to the bottom.”

A third person wrote: “You don’t have to tell us. Go do what you want. We don’t care.”
