Fans of Rihanna have been anticipating new music for a while, and with good reason—the singer has been hinting about her next album, R9, for the past several years.
The 36-year-old celebrity, however, has been very busy managing her Fenty Beauty business, raising her two boys, and fulfilling other responsibilities. Last night (November 7), she talked about where her heart is right now, which raised the possibility that she may be permanently done with music.
“Obviously music was the thing that got the attention, but God had other plans for me,” the Umbrella hit singer said in a speech during her Fenty Beauty event in Barbados.
“And I was able to create in ways that were sincere and genuine and organic and authentic to the things that I loved,” she said, reminding people that all of her business endeavors are based on things she truly wanted to pursue. With her native nation serving as the primary source of inspiration for her beauty company, RiRi shifted her focus to thanking it.
“Coming back home, where, the first place I ever met beauty, acknowledged beauty, was at my home here in Barbados. You guys have always inspired me. Everything about my brand, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin have been inspired by you and this country, my people, my family, my friends, my opps, I love all of you guys,” she stated.
At least we know that RiRi is still giving her all to what she loves in the meantime, even though the Navy has good reason to want new songs from her.
