The talk about Black diaspora relocation and doing business in Ghana has increased in recent times.
A few weeks ago, the news of Idris Elba’s relocation to live in Africa made headlines even though he has African roots. Several celebrities and investors have also made the move.
The latest duo to make such a business move is the “Earn Your Leisure” podcasters Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings.
As a way of putting their commitment to wealth building into practice, the pair announced that they were constructing a 300-acre development, titled the Sanbra City Project in Ghana.
The project is in partnership with other developers like Alvin Bekoe, Kwame Blay, Tuyee Yeboah, and activist Chakabars.
The brain behind the project was revealed by Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings via Instagram.
The duo of ‘Earn Your Leisure’ fame are building a Green Residential Community in Ghana as was first reported by AfroTech.
According to them: “We acquired 300 acres of vacant land in Accra aimed at creating a vibrant community that welcomes the diaspora to Ghana for more than just parties. We will prioritize collaboration with local communities to ensure proper integration and mutual benefit. The time to come home has finally come! Homes are now available for sale.”
Before making the project public, this multi-phased project has been in the works for more than a year.
The project’s first 40-unit community named The Cascades, is located in Borteyman a suburb in Accra, Ghana.
The Cascades features a modern and spacious kitchen, a living room, a master bedroom, and a bathroom with a rainfall shower head and heater, as well as porcelain tile flooring, the project’s brochure mentions.
According to the project’s brochure, “Sanbra City embodies a strong green philosophy focused on sustainability and eco-friendly living that aligns with Ghana’s green agenda.”
Therefore, The Cascades is labeled as an eco-friendly development due to its incorporation of solar energy, bike lanes, eco-parks, biodegradable plastics in its marketplace, and a rooftop garden for urban farming, among other sustainable features.
The Cascades is expected to be completed by October 2027 and will include a total of 421 residential units and 24 commercial units.
